
Music Band

In 2006, SYP worked with MAP Foundation and created a music video CD which aimed to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS among migrant camps in Chiang Mai and on Thai - Burma border.
As a result of feedback, many people, especially migrant workers in Chiang Mai, report that the music video CD is very informative and is very entertaining.
After that SYP has found a music band name "SYP music band" and continued to produce video CD that are related to safety in working place, traditional life styles, healths, and education. Plus, members in the band are mainly youth; thus, most technical supports such as video recording, sound mixing, and video editing are done by youths.
Furthermore, the band usually plays in many occasions in both inside and outside of the community. When there are important events, such as Shan New Year and youth exchange, the band usually play on the stage, do fund raising, as well as entertaining audience.
In 2009, SYP decided to include teaching music as part of its lectures in migrant children school. Since then, more children participated SYP music band and created another CD name " School for School" which mainly sang by children who what to tell the important of their education.
Football Club

SYP found a football team named "SYP Football club" in 2008 in order to encourage youths to spend their free time on doing exercise, building relationship, networking, and avoiding alcohol and drug usage. As a result, there are more than 45 Shan youths inside and outside Chiang Mai who join the club.
The team has not only played with other youth football clubs in local community; plus, it also joins several football matches outside its base. For instance, the SYP football club plays with Thai students from Chiang Mai university, students from School for Shan State Nationalities Youth (SSSNY), and youths from Burma.
